Join us for the 2017 Walk A Mile In Her Shoes – A March to End Sexual Assault and Gender Violence on Saturday, April 1 at The Peninsula Town Center in Hampton, Virginia.
“Walk A Mile In Her Shoes” is a community event where supporters collect pledges and walk one mile in high heels to protest against sexual and domestic violence. All proceeds from this event will benefit The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors, a local non-profit rape crisis center serving the peninsula and surrounding areas.
With your help, your support will go towards: educational materials for the community on sexual assault, supplies and resource material for victims of local human trafficking, educational resources for multilingual groups within the community, and allowing us to creatively utilize resources for our community that otherwise would not be available.
The Center works closely with the Hampton and Newport News Police Departments, Homeland Security, the F.B.I. local hospitals, and other organizations to identify, support and provide services to victims of sex and labor trafficking throughout Hampton Roads.
The Center is active with our local college campuses helping to provide rape crisis services to students, faculty, campus law enforcement and secondary victims.
